My first real enduro race was one that truly lived up to the meaning of "endurance." It was a grueling challenge where both machine and rider reached their absolute limits. In fact, more than half of the participants didn't make it to the finish line—and I was almost one of them. The first thought that crossed my mind after crossing the finish line? "Never again!" But we all know that’s a lie. The thrill of the race, the passion for the sport, and the camaraderie keep us coming back, no matter how tough the day was. To be honest, the start didn’t go well. As soon as the flag dropped, I watched a lot of bikes pass me, some cutting through the crowd as a shortcut, while a few of us got stuck at the first bottleneck—famously known as the Red Bull curve. Physically, I wasn’t in the shape I needed to be, which made the race even harder. Despite everything, I managed to finish 20th in my category and 190th overall, out of over 1,200 riders—more than 100 of whom were professional racers. It’s a result I can be proud of, given the competition and the sheer scale of the event. For those of us passionate about enduro, it’s not just about racing.
